Creating a Bucket List

Hi there! I was just thinking about the idea of a bucket list. I’ve heard of them and you probably have too. I’ve never actually created one though. I have so many things I want to do in my lifetime. There are so many possibilities of future adventures I can have in Chicago and in other places. They could be romantic in nature or I could do them with friends. A lot of the things I want to do involve traveling – it’s always great to visit a new place and learn about their culture (and eat some delicious food too…gelato in Italy is totally calling my name). Do you have a bucket list? If yes, let me know in the comments. I’d be interested to see what’s on your list. If not, we can create one together! I don’t know if I’ll accomplish everything I write down, but there’s no harm in trying. I got this idea from the College Prep blog in a post about blog post ideas. I couldn’t initially think of what to write, so I thought this would be a good place to start. Without further ado, here is my bucket list:

  1. Meet Taylor Swift in person.
  2. Learn Italian.
  3. Finally learn how to braid my hair (I’ll get on this soon, I promise.)
  4. Go to Serendipity in New York City and get a frozen hot chocolate with Catherine Monaghan (let’s do this eventually!).
  5. Visit a winery (Napa Valley or Sonoma are good options) and do a bunch of wine tastings!
  6. Order a dirty martini (I’ve never had one before and it’s Samantha’s favorite drink on Sex and the City).
  7. Get married and have kids.
  8. Visit Japan. I’ve always wanted to go to Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo. Maybe Tokyo Disneyland?
  9. Go camping for the first time.
  10. Learn how to scuba dive. That sounds really, really cool.
  11. Run a 5K the whole way through.
  12. Experience a really great kiss at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
  13. Have my very own dinner party in an apartment.
  14. Conquer my fear of heights or at least accept it (this probably means hiking the Grand Canyon or a giant mountain).
  15. Learn how to make my Dad’s awesome beef chili.
  16. Attend a TED talk! That would be really informative.
  17. Attend a masquerade ball – they always look so interesting.
  18. Make my own sangria (I have some recipes on Pinterest).
  19. Attend another anime convention in the midwest.
  20. Earn money by being a blogger.
  21. Create a scrapbook with all of my college memories.
  22. Take a cooking class in Europe on vacation.
  23. Attend either the Winter or Summer Olympics!
  24. See the Northern Lights.
  25. Visit New England in the fall.
  26. Fly in a hot air balloon.
  27. Buy my very own car.
  28. Fly first class.
  29. See a broadway musical in New York City.
  30. Go to a taping of the Ellen DeGeneres show. It’s in Burbank, California!
  31. Have dinner with Hillary Clinton.
  32. Visit Tobi and his family in Germany.
  33. Ride a gondola in Venice, Italy.
  34. Try green juice.
  35. Buy my own house.
  36. Attend a country music concert in cowboy boots.
  37. Go to a drive-in movie theater.
  38. Get my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing (that’s what I’m working towards right now).
  39. Stay at Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, California.
  40.  Have a cat or two.
  41. Learn how to waltz/ballroom dance.
  42. Learn how to knit.
  43. Drink tea and eat scones for afternoon tea in London, England.
  44. Go on a road trip with my friends.
  45. Go to a spa in Bali, Indonesia.
  46. Go on another disney cruise (because the first one was fantastic!).
  47. Ride a segway.
  48. Write an article for a well-known magazine or website.
  49. Visit Niagara Falls.
  50. See the Statue of Liberty in New York.
